The proposed LLP name must be finalized and checked for availability on the MCA portal. If the name is available, an application for Reservation of Unique Name (RUN-LLP) can be submitted along with a certified copy of the partners’ consent approving the new name.

Procedure to Change the Name of an LLP

To change the LLP’s name, the approved name must first be obtained from the Registrar. After receiving the name approval letter, Form LLP-5 must be filed to inform the Registrar of Companies about the name change. This filing should include a certified copy of the partners’ consent, along with copies of the existing LLP Agreement and the supplementary agreement reflecting the new name.
