What Is a Digital Signature?

A digital signature is an electronic and encrypted method of authentication used on digital data such as emails, electronic documents, and files. It verifies the identity of the signer and ensures that the information has not been altered after signing, providing authenticity and data integrity.

Why Do You Need a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)?

A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is required to create a valid digital signature. It serves as proof of identity and links the signer to a pair of cryptographic keys (public and private keys). When a document or file is digitally signed, the DSC and public key are shared with the recipient to verify the signer's identity and confirm that the document has not been tampered with.
